June 2024 Special Guest Speaker!

LGBTQ Pride Month: What is at stake in the November 2024 General Election?

This talk will provide both a history of LGBTQ electoral successes in San Diego County and the upcoming ballot measure to officially repeal California’s Prop 8 that was ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court.

Ryan Trabuco (he/him/his) is the Club President of San Diego Democrats for Equality. He was publicly elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024 as a member of the San Diego County Democratic Central Committee. He also serves as Vice Chair of the California Democratic Party's LGBTQ Caucus, is a CADEM Executive Board Member, and is Secretary of the Clairemont Democratic Club. Recently, he was elected as a 2024 District Delegate to re-nominate the Biden-Harris ticket at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

During the day, he works as Executive Assistant to Imperial Beach Mayor Paloma Aguirre. He previously worked for the Chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, the President pro Tempore of the California State Senate, and for an Orange County Supervisor. While working for the County of San Diego, he was Vice Chair of the County’s LGBTQ&A Employee Resource Group. In 2022, he was appointed by San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria to serve on the City's Human Relations Commission. He is a licensed Notary Public, and a graduate of the Young Professionals Council Academy at the San Diego LGBT Community Center. Oh, and he LOVES movies!
